A friend just woke me up (its 530am in Geneva!) to tell me that we just got TechCrunched! Check out the post here! Needless to say, we’re all thrilled to see months of hard work pay off with some recognition on the #1 tech blog out there! Of course, what really matters is having happy users (see my last post), but at the end of the day, getting techcrunched comes with a special kind of thrill. Thanks to all our supporters out there, who have stuck by us through thick and thin, and who believe in our vision of democratizing the news and using the power of the social web to find the highest quality, most credible content.
As I said in one my first blog posts back in 2007, we can’t change the world ourselves. But we can certainly do with all of you!
Update: We’re on TechCrunch Japan as well. Who knows Japanese?
Update 2: The TechCrunch effect is real: we’re adding a new user every few seconds!
Congratulations! I’m not surprised that Newscred is on Techcrunch. Your mission is definitely an ambitious one and one that has huge potential to shake up the media scene- So its only natural that the world is starting to take notice!! Keep up the good work guys!! Btw, so far I’ve been loving the user experience on Newscred private Alpha.
@Ruby – Thanks! All the feedback and support from the community has played a significant role in us getting off to a good start. Hopefully the TC article will help grow the NewsCred community even more.
BTW. The design and usability features were our first internal dev milestones during the initial dev phase couple months back. We were SO excited once we had it working and we’re even more excited now seeing how people are loving the user experience. If there’s anything we can improve, we’d love for you to let us know!
That was a very constructive review of NewsCred by TechCrunch! You have indeed taken aggregate news reporting to another level with your credibility rating.
NewsCred will change the way we read news. Being able to get what’s worth reading without wasting any time shifting through pages or hopping from one news site to another is what I’ve been waiting for.
